Generate Thousands With Google Adsense

Every day, tens of thousands of web sites are earning money through Adsense ads. Google’s Adsense allows you to display ads on your web site and earn money each time someone clicks on one of the ads being displayed. These ads can be text only, image only or both. Website owners can choose which types of ads they would like displayed. Using Adsense on my own sites, I’ve learned quite a bit about which techniques can be used to enhance Adsense earnings.

What you make with Adsense depends on a few things. For example, the advertisements you display and where you display them can make the difference between pennies and dollars. Some important things to consider before placing your Adsense code would be ad placement and type. Consider placing code in multiple areas of your page and in different formats. Place at least one ad unit above the fold to ensure maximum exposure.

For anyone currently doing business with Google Adsense, you may be aware that Google does what it can to help its advertisers. They have even released a variety of information regarding best performing placements. Google recommends strong click through rates on ads that appear on the top, left, and bottom of a web page. Although varying sizes perform differently, half banners, and larger ad spots seem to perform well.

Adsense ads that perform well on one page may not perform as well on a similar page that resides on a different domain. This is largely due to the fact that top performing ads are wrapped around valuable content. Some content, such as product reviews for example, generate higher click through rates than informational content with few products or services available. Ads perform best when needs are established and solutions can be presented.

Another area of Adsense that affects earnings is ad size. It has been proven that different ad sizes place in different locations will perform differently. Studies have shown that by simply changing ad format slightly produces a significantly better result. Many advertisers report that half banners and medium rectangles appear to work best, especially when displayed in niche content areas. Regardless of the size you think will work best, continually test to find which size produces the highest click through rate for you.

The way in which you display your ads also has an impact on earning potential. Whether you are using the standard colors or a blended palette does make a difference. Some sites do better blending their ads in look and feel, making it more difficult for browsers to differentiate between content and ads. Others feel that contrast is necessary for users to notice ads. This may discourage click throughs but if other factors are fine tunes can have the opposite affect generating significant online revenue.

Alter the number of ads you’re running on your page. Should you only have one ad or multiple ads? This all depends on the layout of your site, flow of traffic, and ultimately how everything looks together. If you site is too clutter, people will leave. On the other hand, too bare and you may find that users ignore your ads. Continually test the number of ad placements to determine what is idea. I have found that 2 – 3 placements per page works best.

Consider working with the different variations of Adsense factors to improve your revenue from online advertising. Ad size, number of units, placements, and so on can each have a significant impact on your results. Start with the more common sizes like half banners and medium squares and place two to three units per page. Test frequently and measure your results. Refine your placements and style and soon you’ll be making more from your Adsense ads.
